Treating yourself to a phenomenal seafood experience? Reasonably priced? This. Is. The. Spot.
I've been here ~5 times in groups of 2-3 numerous times. On the weekends, you'll have to wait up to 20 minutes, but tbh it's so worth...
Food: I always get one of the Don bowls when I come here - best choice and come with a Miso soup. The quality of the fish is just unreal. Portion sizes are surprisingly plentiful (although, like any sushi place, don't expect to be STUFFED).
Service: Nothing to talk about here. The food speaks for itself.
Atmosphere: It's a small venue that's easy to miss. Two tables that seat 4, a few 2-seaters, and then bar-seating. The place is very simple, clean, and pleasant. The dishware contributes and really enhances the experience! I really appreciate that they don't just cop out for generic plates and cutlery.
I always spend like $25 including tax/tip. Been about once per month since moving to the area. Definitely my favorite spot in Chinatown. -

This is a good spot. I recently visited Boston and wanted to end my visit with something savory. There were quite a number of reviews on Yelp about this spot and so I decided to give it a try.
It's a smaller venue (located below ground level) and so you may find a hard time finding a seat as there is primarily the bar seating and a couple tables behind you. If you come as one person (versus a group) you would probably find a seat faster than others who came before.
The reputation of this venue is notable online in regards to the ramen. I ordered the chashu soba ($13) -- japanese double slow cooked pork belly, seasoned soft boiled egg, sweet corn, and nori. It was absolutely delish!!!
The broth was rich and the pork belly was definitely present. I was surprised at the size of the pork pieces as I they were quite substantial. Nonetheless, I found that I finished everything around the pork before the pork itself. It was very savory and adequately sized. For the size of the dish and the quality - I found this to be a very good deal.
Other notes -- individual bathrooms for extra convenience.
Overall, this is a nice, cozy spot that serves delicious ramen. Add this venue to your list of "must-try" places in Boston -

I came to Tora at the recommendation of a friend, and I'm so glad I did! Their specialty is kaisen don, which is pretty much like chirashi but slightly different rice. It's sashimi on a bed of rice. There's so much variety, and the presentation is beautiful!
We got K15 Kuromon don (yellowtail, salmon, tuna, mackerel, red snapper) and K13 Nagahama don (spot shrimp, salmon, yellowtail, squid, mackerel, and sea urchin sashimi). My favorites were yellowtail, mackerel, tuna, and sea urchin. The fish is very tender and fresh. Uni was so soft as rich. The squid was also surprisingly flavorful. A bite with the seafood, soy sauce, wasabi, and rice is just wonderful. My least favorite was the shrimp - could've been more fresh. The miso soup that comes with the Kaisen don is the perfect pairing. The bowls mostly range about $20-$30.
The space is small -- half at the sushi bar and half small tables that seat 2-4 people. We got seated right away for a party of two at noon on Saturday. But a line quickly formed right after. Service is fast and friendly. Nice spot! -

I think Tora might actually be my favorite place in the Chinatown area. I always suggest Tora to all my friends, family and coworkers. I cannot get enough of their bowls. My favorite is of course their sake aisura don (salmon bowl); I could eat this every day if I was able to.
The establishment is very cozy, you will most likely have to wait a bit whether it's during lunch or dinner, but that really shows how great this spot is! They have so many options on the menu, and I'm definitely planning on going back for the tuna or uni bowls. Everything is just so fresh and not to mention the bowls are beautifully crafted (yay for those Instagram foodies).
I'll be back ;) -

Tora is amazing! No wonder there's often a wait to get seated. My boyfriend and I came for dinner on a Saturday and had to wait about 20-30 minutes. There were many bowls and varieties to choose from, but I love salmon and almost immediately decided on the sake aisuru don (salmon sashimi, salmon belly, minced salmon). I was impressed by how fresh, delicious, and high quality the salmon was. The miso soup was comforting and yummy as well. Very enjoyable meal and prices were definitely reasonable, especially for the quality of the fish.
